Reading on Repeat with Kids: This Moose Belongs to Me by Oliver Jeffers
Because once is not enough!
Welcome and thanks for reading the first ever duck duck moose Reading on Repeat (RoR) post. I’ll be sharing what we are RoR in our household weekly-ish! These posts will be short and sweet, as I know how limited our time is with little ones - I promise no essays.
I’ve had some pretty big library hauls the last few weeks and a couple of gifted books for baby Clark (my 6 month old). As per usual there are some books that get read every night multiple times or make a pretty lasting impression on the whole family. And then there are some that are one and done.
So I think it’s only fitting to start off this duck duck moose RoR series with a book about a moose….
THIS MOOSE BELONGS TO ME by Oliver Jeffers.
I love reading Oliver Jeffers’ books, and this one didn’t disappoint. The illustrations were original and beautiful. We were all laughing out loud multiple times especially during the below series of events. It fills my heart when everyone gets a kick out of the same thing.

This was a fun little book that I have been happy to read a few times a week! I would definitely recommend this one. Have you read this one? If so, let me know what you think in the comments below.
- Happy reading!
I love the idea of calling a moose Rodrigo. The final “You brought me an apple”, which I read as if I was an oscar nominee, is such a mundane yet brilliant ending!
